in New York, and due to the rain I limited myself to internet biking which made me come across Dave Perry's super quiz.
Found some interesting history about the first bicycle crash in New York from 1896.
here is an interview with organizers Mattio Montesano and Drew Crane-Droesch of the event on BikeBlog New York
in it you can learn about cyclocross and how it transformed into urban exploration
and if you read all the way through you can even spot me falling off my bike
is coming to Randall's Island for the second year on 4/11.
What is tracklocross you might wonder? Well, that's not so hard to explain; it's where you combine track race (riding around in circles at a velodrome on fixed bicycles) with a cross race (which is pretty much a race on mud and obstacles) and bring 40-50 bikers that are willing to participate on a relatively small island located between Manhattan, Bronx and Queens right underneath Triborough Bridge.
It was the most intense race I have participated, yet it was fun to do.
Here are some pictures to prove it

One of the chains that I actually like. Just discovered there is a new location opening right on 53rd street, this gets even better as it's right next to the waterfall in Samuel Paley Park, on East 53rd Street, between Fifth and Madison Avenues.
I smell summer (or just good weather coming).
Should I survive the weekend I will have tales to tell how was to race bikes on ice. Since that is my plan for the weekend, I will be driving up to Montreal with Lyle to participate in the ice race. Here is a footage from last year's event. Very curious how my bike will fare, borrowed studded tires from Gabe and have the kona set up with free wheel, platform pedals and a rear break. Oh, I also got knee and elbow pads who knows how much they will protect, but...
There are no accidents, on my way to work I changed my mind last second and decided to ride down on 5th instead of Manhattan Avenue, well the purpose of the change was to notice a new exhibition. Paris/New York design/fashion/culture/1925-1940 is on display, and I am curious of seeing it.
There are also 2 upcoming exhibitions that seem very interesting as well, Amsterdam/New Amsterdam: The Worlds of Henry Hudson and Mannahatta/Manhattan.
