Is the title of Alberto Lattudas's 1962 film about Antonio Badalamenti, played by Alberto Sordi setting place in Sicily and New York. Antonio, who is a supervisor in a Milan factory working on such lines as Lambrettas and Fiats, but that wasn't the point. Rather it was about their trip to the homeland in Sicily, for the first time for his wife and two beautiful daughters to meet with his family and origins, including the extended family headed by Don Vincenzo as a picciotto d'onore (child of honor). There are good laughs as we see how the 2 families become one, Antonio's expressions are priceless enhanced with great lighting and good camera work Armando Nannuzzi and excellent music by Piero Piccioni. I was especially fond of the dramatic scenes shot in New York. Great way to learn more about the meaning of Bacio le mani, picciotto and cournoto. And the good laughs were going on accompanied with some sweet Mousse de maracuja and pudim de leite at the wonderful hole in the wall Delicia in the West Village.
