I am letting it evolve by itself, touching on topics such: LIFE, travel, New York, film, museum, photography, love, Vespa, bicycle, cooking, Budapest with many other passions and affairs...
One of the chains that I actually like. Just discovered there is a new location opening right on 53rd street, this gets even better as it's right next to the waterfall in Samuel Paley Park, on East 53rd Street, between Fifth and Madison Avenues.
I smell summer (or just good weather coming).
Should I survive the weekend I will have tales to tell how was to race bikes on ice. Since that is my plan for the weekend, I will be driving up to Montreal with Lyle to participate in the ice race. Here is a footage from last year's event. Very curious how my bike will fare, borrowed studded tires from Gabe and have the kona set up with free wheel, platform pedals and a rear break. Oh, I also got knee and elbow pads who knows how much they will protect, but...
There are no accidents, on my way to work I changed my mind last second and decided to ride down on 5th instead of Manhattan Avenue, well the purpose of the change was to notice a new exhibition. Paris/New York design/fashion/culture/1925-1940 is on display, and I am curious of seeing it.
There are also 2 upcoming exhibitions that seem very interesting as well, Amsterdam/New Amsterdam: The Worlds of Henry Hudson and Mannahatta/Manhattan.
(written by a passenger of US Air flight 1549)
Laguardia to Weehawken (or from Grave to Save)
15 Days after the new year
Queens to the Queen City in cold NY clear
Flying in the sky with grey birds that day
From the Great White North-they got in the way
Broiled Canadians stink up the cabin
Lookin' down we're over Manhattan
Brace for impact, Sully did calmly deliver
We're takin' this b**** into the river
Back in New York from my home in the south
This is not reality comes from my mouth
Thoughts of loved ones without me and hard times ahead
When I woke up this morning, didn't expect to be dead
Big Tin can bounces along the waves
We are still in this world, not icy Hudson graves
Presence of God, open doors, sun and water
A dip off Hells Kitchen with somebody's daughter
Shivering in the life raft, Jersey looks fine,
Ferryman comes to save souls this time
155 hearts another day will beat
Miracle on the Hudson now life is so sweet
what I mean by that is why do I always manage to find the ones that make me stop from looking since I can't afford or don't want to spend such money. In this case I am in search of a helmet since my full face had gotten stolen back in may with Vespa II. So I've been trying on various 'flip up' helmets, but none really fit the bill. (flip up is the kind that you can open and let your face breathe a bit without taking the helmet off, I find it very useful)
When the one called Vemar Jiano popped up in front of me, it looks like this
on the plus side, it comes with free shipping. Yippie!
